A court in Raipur has extended the judicial remand of senior journalist Vinod Verma who is now in jail after his arrest in connection with a sleaze CD case allegedly involving a Chhattisgarh minister.After completion of his remand period on Monday, Verma was produced before a court which extended his judicial remand till November 27. Earlier, the Judicial Magistrate First class and a session's court had rejected his bail plea.Verma was arrested by the Raipur police on October 27 after a person lodged a complaint in the state capital alleging that someone had tried to blackmail and extort money. Subsequently, the police arrested Verma from his home in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, claiming that they have also seized 500 CDs, pen drive and a laptop from his possession.Immediately after Verma's arrest, a sex CD purportedly showing a minister, went viral and state PWD minister Rajesh Munat and the state government dismissed it as fake , As Reported By TOI.
