The makers of Padmavati, you are not the only one having Censor troubles! Even Firangi is having troubles with the Censor Board, and perhaps it's your tussle with the CBFC has to be blamed. As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, the movie has been stuck with the Censor Board for some time. The release date has also been affected as Firangi was first supposed to release on November 10, but then it got shifted to November 24. However, with the Censor process not getting sped up, it is going to miss the release slot this week as well. The makers will announce the new release date sometime ahead.

A spokesperson from Kapil's production house, K9 Films, told Mirror, "The film has been submitted to the censor office and we are expecting a reply from them soon." However, there is no specific reason given as to what is causing the delay in getting a certificate from the Censor Board.

We could also blame the CBFC's new rule, according to which, a film needs to be submitted to the film certification board at least 68 days before its release. Even Tiger Zinda Hai suffers from this predicament. Recently a producer, whose movie was also supposed to release this week, ranted about the Censor Board's new rule which he says was brought into action just to cause trouble for Padmavati. He said, "The 68-day rule was there all along. But never implemented because everyone knows it is impossible for most producers to submit complete films 68 days in advance. Now suddenly when Padmavati was on release, the CBFC decided it had to strictly implement the dormant rule. That meant all the releases this Friday including Kapil Sharma's Firangi, Sunny Leone's Tera Intezaar and the Bollywood biggies Murder On The Orient Express, Coco and Thank You For Your Service would have had to be delayed, only so that Padmavati could be stopped on December 1."
