Mangalore newspaper copies burned, distribution disrupted

Copies of Mangalore newspaper Karavali Ale were burned and distribution of the newspaper was disrupted on two consecutive days on April 28 and 29, allegedly by supporters of Krishna Palemar, BJP MLA seeking re-election from Surathkal constitutency in Mangalore North.
According to a complaint filed by Chitra Publications, owners of the newspaper, the MLA was reportedly angry over the coverage given to a rival candidate.
The management of the newspaper said that the politician had violated election codes and has demanded action against him.
