Trinamool Congress leader Shibu Yadav, the key accused in the recent attack on TV journalists in Barrackpore, was arrested today from the East Champaran district of Bihar. Yadav was absconding since the attack last Friday.
The two TV journalists were assaulted while they covering the alleged factional feud of Trinamool Congress.
Tracking the mobile network of the accused, a police team from the state reached Bihar two days ago. In a joint raid with Bihar Police, Shibu and eight of his associates were arrested while they were travelling in East Champaran. The vehicle was bearing the number plate of Bengal. Commissioner of Police, Barrackpore, Sanjai Singh said they will move court tomorrow for transit remand of Yadav.
