Gurgaon: Police on Wednesday arrested Congress leader Amaresh Mishra for allegedly making provocative remarks against Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on a microblogging website.

An FIR was lodged against Mishra (48) at Lucknow"™s Hazratganj police station on Monday for allegedly spreading hatred. Notably, the Congress supporter, on Twitter, had threatened to shoot Modi dead.



A seven-member team of Lucknow Police arrested Mishra from Gurgaon"™s Sector 56.

A case against Mishra, the co-writer of story and screenplay of Bollywood film 'Bullett Raja', was registered under Section 153A of the Indian Penal Code and 66A of the IT Act.

His Twitter account has already been suspended.

Mishra, the student of the Allahabad University, is the convener of Anti-Communal Front in Uttar Pradesh.

Hundreds of netizens following Mishra on Twitter created an uproar after the Congress supporter made inflammatory comments against Modi.
