Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav is fairly active on Twitter. But his more than 2 million followers on the social networking site haven't had a word from him after his father and Samajwadi Party supremo expelled him from the party on Friday. His last tweet was dated December 29 along with a picture of the Rani Laxmi Bai awardees. Yadav the younger has a considerable social media presence, unlike his father Mulayam, who does not even have a Twitter account. But evidently, for Akhilesh too, old style behind-the-scenes political manoeuvres are the need of the hour. Social media updates can wait.
