Arnab’s new gig

IN Media Watch Briefs | 16/12/2016

Arnab Goswami, former editor-in-chief of Times Now, has announced that his new venture will be called Republic. The Indian Express reports that it is likely to be up and running before the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh in 2017. However, Goswami, who made jingoistic, high-decibel journalism a whole new paradigm in Indian news television, did not divulge the details of his venture to them. According to The News Minute, a Bangalore-based media owner, a TV distribution network and an advertising and media buying group, are backing him. The media owner who was in talks with Goswami  is member of parliament Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Chairman of Asianet. So now it will be, the Republic wants to know?
