The Broadcast Editor’s Association (BEA), a body of editors from leading TV news channels has removed Zee News editor and business head Sudhir Chaudhary from the post of treasurer and primary membership of the body. It has also set up a three-member committee to investigate the allegations of extortion against Zee News made by Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. The panel is said to have met JSPL representatives and viewed the “evidence” presented by them. Chaudhary argued that the committee has made a “one-sided pronouncement” and should have waited for the police report. (IE)
