The Shiv Sena has always been quick to protest every real or imagined slight to the Maratha community. However, on Tuesday, tables were turned when the Navi Mumbai and Thane offices of the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna were attacked for publishing a cartoon that allegedly hurt the sentiments of Marathas. On Wednesday, Saamna promptly carried an apology from the cartoonist on its front page, reports The Indian Express. However, parties like the Congress and NCP have demanded action against Saamna editor Sanjay Raut. The BJP too wants an apology from the newspaper. This comes at a times when Marathas have been taking out rallies, demanding reservations for their community.
