Blamefest

IN Media Watch Briefs | 05/09/2014

Aroon Purie, proprietor Living Media and TV Today said on Friday that Indian regulators were destroying the news industry with their populism and regressive ideas. The cable industry has to keep prices down, subscription income does not come, and paying carriage fees is  killing the industry. And then TRAI has come up with the notion of cross media and share of voice in an age where any media can be consumed anywhere. "We have the ability to take the worst laws and put them here." This was at TV Next in Mumbai. The regulator of course did not show up.
