Delhi HC denies protection to Madhu Kishwar

IN Media Watch Briefs | 12/09/2017
The Delhi High Court has refused  to grant protection from arrest to activist Madhu Kishwar in a criminal defamation case brought by Rising Kashmir  editor-in-chief Shujaat Bukhari. Kishwar wanted interim protection because a non bailable warrant was issued against her by a Srinagar Court. In July she got a Supreme Court order to participate in the court proceedings of Srinagar by video conferencing. So the Delhi High Court suggested she do just that. "You want to avoid the trial. No interim protection," the judge is quoted as saying.
