Google has started revealing documents related to the federal investigation of its Street View mapping project. The company is alleged to have gathered unencrypted Internet data from wireless networks as its Street View cars passed the neighborhoods when it was supposed to only photograph the world streets. The documents revealed are sworn declarations by nine people most of whom appear to be Google engineers saying that they were unaware of the data collection as it was not the part of their job. Which leaves everyone wondering-- if it wasn’t the part of their job, whose was it then? (NYT)
