Hindu hosts its readers

IN Media Watch Briefs | 25/10/2016

The Hindu’s Mumbai edition celebrates its first anniversary with an Open House with "chai and snacks", to meet with its Readers’ Editor on November 26.  Sachin Kalbag, editor of the Mumbai edition tweeted the invite, and also tweeted that the paper is the first in the history of Indian journalism to appoint an independent news ombudsman. But that isn't  true. TOI had former CJI PN Bhagwati as its news ombudsman back in 1989. Now appointing one  is becoming  a trend — with both The Wire, and Scroll.in having recently announced readers editors.
