Ignoring editor's harassment?

IN Media Watch Briefs | 06/02/2015

"Hounded Urdu editor unable to return home", says the Times of India in a front-page second lead on February 6.  This is a continuing Mumbai story which other media seem reluctant to play up. The Hindustan Times follows up the story on page 15  same day, but anything prominent on it in other papers is hard to find. Though the Mumbai Press Club has supported her case, the Editors' Guild and other journalists'  bodies are silent on the subject, even though she was arrested on January 28, released on bail and has had to continuously seek bail as fresh FIRs are being filed against her. These are filed by members of the Muslim community.  Would the media reaction countrywide to similar harassment by, say, saffron groups, have been as subdued?
