Kashmir connected again

IN Media Watch Briefs | 15/02/2013

At around 08:00PM, Feb 15, Internet services were resumed in Kashmir after being suspended on Feb 09, the day Afzal Guru was hanged. For the whole week, the valley had no online contact with the outside world except those who own the government run BSNL-broadband. Cable services were also cut on the day of Guru's hanging and later resumed but only without any news and information channels. The news channels were viewable only on DTH services like Tata Sky, and Dish TV.  A day later, the broadcast of national news channels on cable has also been resumed.
