Letter to the Hoot: callous NDTV

Saurav Gangulyøs inclusion in the Test Squad rated a headline ahead of the confirmation of the killing of Mr. M R Kutty.

I was appalled to turn on NDTV on Wednesday night and find that in the  headlines put on in its ‘news at a glance’ Saurav Ganguly`s inclusion in the Test Squad  came first as the lead news item, followed by the news of the confirmation of the killing of Mr. M R Kutty. It is callousness on their part, considering that this is a matter of national and international importance.  Their skewed priorities are shocking to say the very least. They have no hesitation in going to town with the Indo-Pak feel-good stories for weeks on end but on the day when the killing  must have just been confirmed they still didn`t feel it needed to be ranked first. It is a bit hard to digest that Nidhi Razadan kept asking the three guests in the programme that followed whether India did too little and too late. It`s easy enough to try to put words in people`s mouths, but I think NDTV needs to shine the searchlight on themselves for a change.
