No free speech on Twitter

Looks like the TOI is not so out of line after all in the social media guidelines it set for its media employees. The NYT has now come up with this:  “In social media posts, our journalists must not express partisan opinions, promote political views, endorse candidates, make offensive comments or do anything else that undercuts The Times’s journalistic reputation.” The paper's executive editor spoke at an event to say that it was a problem for the paper if it had a 100 people working for it who were sending out inappropriate tweets, and said that the paper is going to come up with a tougher policy.
