The CBI becomes the third government agency to go after the owners of NDTV and its holding company, RRPR Holding Pvt Ltd. They are already being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax Department. This case dates back to 2009, the CBI says it is investigating fraud involving a private bank.  As the Hoot explained earlier  a whole cast of characters then associated with the BJP, including  MJ Akbar, Yashwant Sinha, and Ram Jethmalani were involved in making a complaint about the manner in which the Radhika Roy-Prannoy Roy company took a loan from ICICI bank. The Roys had sued Akbar's paper at that time, the Sunday Guardian, for its allegations and the story had been taken off the website.  On Monday evening (June 5) NDTV posted a letter from ICICI  Bank saying all loans had been repaid.
