Of banana republics

A reader points that the Indian Express issue of November 27 has a second lead on Ratan Tata saying India could end up becoming as lawless as a banana republic where people are killed mysteriously. And a bottom anchor on the same page describes just an encounter killing in Gujarat, a state Mr Tata has begun to  repose considerable faith in. Is he not worried that there is already a banana republic there?
