Freedom House's global Internet freedom survey ranks India at 40 (0 best, 100 worst) and describes the Net here as partly free. It gives India a score of 12 on obstacles to access (0-best, 25-worst), a score of 10 on limits on content (0-best, 35 worst) and 18 on violation of user rights (0-best, 40-worst). It ranks China as not free.
