Freedom of press in Manipur is under threat again. An armed terrorist group in Manipur, KYKL-MDF, has threatened editors of several local newspapers after they refused to publish a statement regarding the group. Now the president of All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) has appealed to all the militant groups to stop victimizing the press. The militant groups in Manipur have been pressurizing the newspapers to publish press releases that are against the guidelines of Press Council of India (PCI).
