Resignations at the Hindu

A board meeting of the Hindu appointed Siddharth Varadarajan editor of the paper today.  Of the dissenting family members three tendered their resignations from the editorial management of the paper: N Ravi the editor, Malini Parthasarathy the executive editor, and Nirmala Lakshman who was joint editor. The case filed by the minority faction of the Hindu board remains in the company law board, and will run its course.  Praveen Swami is expected to replace Varadarajan as  chief of bureau.
