Selective adherence

When it comes to adhering to rules laid down by the courts and the press council, the Hindu is pretty selective. While it recently decided to drop Ruchika's name from the infamous molestation case involving former DGP Rathore, it has no qualms about printing photographs of  dead victims, which is not permitted by the press council either. On Jan 6, the front page picture shows a cop removing the body of a colleague from the gunbattle sight in Kashmir.
