Skewed priorities

A four and a half year study of Western media has found that tropical diseases which affect many more people are rarely covered by them. During the study period, a scholar at Bordeaux University found 113 articles on tropical diseases in ten media outlets, compared to over a thousand that mentioned HIV/AIDS, in the AFP database alone.
