Last week Vinod Mehta, who likes to call himself technologically challenged, joined Twitter: “pl bear with me i am just learning this twitter business.” Only two weeks ago Mehta devoted his Outlook column to talking about his struggles with sending an sms: “I spend close to six minutes composing a single sentence of uncomplicated banality.” This sudden embrace of technology is not without a purpose: “I said i would never twitter. (sic) But the sequel to Lucknow Boy [it’s called ‘Editor Unplugged’] comer out on Dec12. I have to flog it since it is like my Will.”
