According to Amitabh Bachchan he took no money for his endorsement of DD Kisan, and entered into no contract for it but Prasar Bharati has coughed up Rs 6.21 crore to Lintas nevertheless. A bit odd. And Lintas tells the Hindu which had broken the story, that it welcome~s Bachchan~s decision to work pro bono! Note the present tense. Bachchan however says he finished the deliverables for this campaign long ago. The Hindu meanwhile is anxious that its role in saving the GOI some money should not be overlooked: "This implies Mr Bachchan took a decision not to charge following the disclosures made in the The Hindu."
