The Hindustan Times redesigned its editorial page and mocked at would-be critics in a somewhat juvenile question and answer strip running down the left of the page. It thought it scored with a piece by Amitav Ghosh on his latest novel: "And having Amitav Ghosh is not dumbing down, silly!" Fact is, it is now a visually inelegant page.
