On July 1, the Supreme Court directed senior Zee TV journalists Sudhir Chaudhary and Samir Ahluwalia to submit their voice samples while hearing the case of their alleged attempt to extort money from industrialist and Congress leader Naveen Jindal. In November 2012, the duo were arrested after the steel tycoon released an audio tape where they were allegedly caught trying to blackmail him and extort Rs 100 crore in return for the channel not running with stories that linked his company to the coal block scam.
