A Delhi-based Malayali journalist, B S Shiju, has been nominated to the Congress party's Kerala state executive committee by its chief V M Sudheeran on February 19, 2014. Party functionaries said this is perhaps for the first time that a full-time journalist is being nominated for the apex body of KPCC which was once headed by top leaders like A K Antony, Vayalar Ravi and Ramesh Chennithala.
