An under-the-table account
Those who did not see the online version of
The Hindu on October 26 missed
this gem called "Meeting a quake". Apparently a bunch of senior editors of the paper and the editor were sufficient traumatised by the Hindukush quake that shook Delhi that afternoon to crawl under a conference table at the Taj Mansingh where they were meeting, and wonder why the hotel staff was not rescuing them. The first person piece was accompanied by a photograph of the journalist writing this blow by blow account of on how terrifying it all was. The rest of the Delhi press seems to have taken the quake in their stride.
