Minister hits back

IN Media Watch Briefs | 07/08/2011
In a strange move, External Affairs Minister S M Krishna has served a legal notice on Press Trust of India (PTI) for reporting that he appeared to be absent minded when called upon to make a statement by the Lok Sabha Speaker. PTI had reported that when Speaker Meira Kumar called Krishna to make statement yesterday on the situation in Sri Lanka, he was not in his seat and was engaged in conversation with some members in the aisle. The notice, demanding a public apology, termed the report "completely false" and "malicious".

Clearly, the run to the 2019 elections is on. A journalist received a call from someone saying they were from Aajtak channel and were conducting a survey, asking whom she was going to vote for in 2019. On being told that her vote was secret, the caller assumed she wasn't going to vote for 'Modiji'. The caller, a woman, also didn't identify herself. A month or two earlier the same journalist received a call, this time from a man, asking if she was going to vote for the BSP.
