Prasar Bharati Chairman A Surya Prakash has said that the Hoot's assertion that the Chairman of Prasar Bharati, a Part-time Member of the Prasar Bharati Board a was made a full-time Member by a notification of the Government without amending the Act as such, is "incorrect, misleading and malafide." The letter says "The Chairman continues to be a Part-time Member of the Board. Section 6(8), read with Section 32 (2)(b) empowers the Central Government to make rules with regard to the allowances payable to the Chairman and Part-time Members. The notification mentioned in the article relates to the notification dated 5^th June, 2015 that was issued in pursuance of the aforementioned provisions only." The Hoot's assertion was based on a media report. Going by the clarification the chairman is still a part time member of the board though he attends office daily and receives a daily allowance.

Amazon resisting voluntary censorship

The new term for self censorship is voluntary censorship, as proposed by companies like Netflix and Hotstar. ET reports that streaming video service Amazon Prime is opposing a move by its peers to adopt a voluntary censorship code in anticipation of the Indian government coming up with its own rules. Amazon is resisting because it fears that it may alienate paying subscribers.

Clearly, the run to the 2019 elections is on. A journalist received a call from someone saying they were from Aajtak channel and were conducting a survey, asking whom she was going to vote for in 2019. On being told that her vote was secret, the caller assumed she wasn't going to vote for 'Modiji'. The caller, a woman, also didn't identify herself. A month or two earlier the same journalist received a call, this time from a man, asking if she was going to vote for the BSP.
