IN Media Watch Briefs | 07/04/2016

DNA began with its editors drawn from print but is increasingly becoming integrated into  Zee's TV empire. First Uday Nirgudkar who headed Zee 24 Taas was asked to head its editorial operation after the last editor drawn from print, C P Surendran quit. Now he moves over as business head and Rohit Gandhi who is heading the Group's international English news channel takes over as editor in chief. Shreyasi Goenka, Subhash Chandra's daughter in law, becomes Content Advisor for the newspaper.

Clearly, the run to the 2019 elections is on. A journalist received a call from someone saying they were from Aajtak channel and were conducting a survey, asking whom she was going to vote for in 2019. On being told that her vote was secret, the caller assumed she wasn't going to vote for 'Modiji'. The caller, a woman, also didn't identify herself. A month or two earlier the same journalist received a call, this time from a man, asking if she was going to vote for the BSP.
